Today? Today was Reno's birthday. He wasn't a teenager any more. She was going to tease him a lot about being oooooold.
When he woke up. Because they were celebrating in Fandom this weekend, since his home was kinda depressing (no offense) and her home had everybody in everybody else's business (downside of living in a commune of sorts) and neither would allow for a nice, relaxing weekend spent cuddling and not ever getting out of bed, ever.
Rikku was mostly asleep, and trying to convince herself to go back to all asleep. And wondering if Reno was up. She'd trade "back to sleep" for "morning gropey times" if he was. She was flexible like that.
(Reno modded with permission. THIS POST IS FOR: Reno, and anyone who might call Rikku or Reno frantically to panic about their AU sprog. Nice, relaxing weekend? Fandom laughs at this idea! Wait for ze OCD!)

Re: Rikku's Cell!
Date: 2010-04-11 02:05 am (UTC)Now she was poking through the contact list and lighting up like a sunrise when she found Aunt Rikku's number. Mom wouldn't mind if she called, right?
Right? Inori was going to call anyway. She could always blame Angeal if she got in trouble.
Ring, ring!
Re: Rikku's Cell!
Date: 2010-04-11 02:12 am (UTC)This would have been more PG-13, except that Reno had said there were wee ones afoot. Probably not a good idea.
Re: Rikku's Cell!
Date: 2010-04-11 02:22 am (UTC)... Yeah, good luck with that one, Inori.
Re: Rikku's Cell!
Date: 2010-04-11 02:25 am (UTC)This would hopefully involve the girl spilling some of her personal family life. Enough that Rikku might have some idea who was on the phone.
Aww, she sounded cute. And 'Aunt Rikku' had such a nice ring to it.
Re: Rikku's Cell!

"I'm better with a sword anyway," she shared. "Dad's been teaching me and it's a lot of fun though he doesn't think I'll ever get a sword as big as his. And I'm allowed to carry my sword around everyday! But explosives are cooler because they go boom!"
Re: Rikku's Cell!
Date: 2010-04-11 02:42 am (UTC)Okay, she probably wasn't Auron's, but Rikku needed a couple of seconds to shake the idea anyway.
"They do," she said, wheels still turning. "So you can use them supervised? Do you think Mom and Dad would count Aunt Rikku as supervision? We could find a quiet spot and let 'er rip."
Ino? Ino was certainly a ninja, and one that was fond of explosions to boot. That would still leave Dad a question mark.
Unless, somehow, Ino had resurrected Auron and was dating him.
... That would be fairly cool, actually, but that was besides the point.

"Besides," Inori added, "it's all Angeal's fault we're here. I was practising like normal and he tackled me through the portal. Mom and Dad are young here, Aunt Rikku."
It hadn't occurred to her, yet, that Aunt Rikku might be too.
Re: Rikku's Cell!
Date: 2010-04-11 08:38 pm (UTC)She only had one name, but other people had plenty. It seemed like it was an early-warning detection system, for when parents were really upset: they busted out the names they'd almost forgotten giving you.
Re: Rikku's Cell!
Date: 2010-04-11 08:52 pm (UTC)Inori fidgeted.
"Really shocked. I don't know that he's really happy but he's not unhappy 'bout us either." Inori had enough training to tell that but not enough experience or knowledge to be able to make a guess why. "And he didn't know who we were either! I had to tell him that I was Inori Fair and that my mom was named Ino and that just seemed to make sense to him. I mean," she added, in a rambly babble, "we get a lot of people saying it's not really a surprise when they look at us who our parents are. I have my dad's eyes, so I'm always 'like, well duh' at them!"
