Reno had assured her that she didn't need to clean for Rude, that Rude was used to his messes, but Rikku liked cleaning. She hadn't seen Rude in ages! This was going to be fun!
The place was decidedly cozier than Rude would probably be expecting. What with all the cheery decor and the orange fluffy bathmat. There weren't even any empty beer bottles or porno mags on the coffee table.
Just an Al Bhed girl, puttering around while Reno ran out for more supplies. Which she hoped didn't mean more beer and pornos. But, well. It was Reno.
(This will be the site of an unholy sort of Turks Reunion, featuring several versions of some of the people involved, no less. But the very first thread is for Tseng alone, please, even though it's Rude she's expecting.)

Work to do. There was always work to do.

Date: 2010-10-02 02:42 am (UTC)"Tseng," she breathed. He was coming, too?! Nobody told her anything!
And a moment later, she was totally grinning again, except this time she was reaching out to hug him. "I'm so glad you came!"
The last she'd heard, they weren't even talking! Okay, she and Tseng had had their differences -- a lot of them -- but he was important to Reno. Very important. And he was here.

Date: 2010-10-02 03:02 am (UTC)And, naturally, he hadn't been expecting the hug. What in the world was he supposed to do with a hug?
Stand there somewhat stiffly. That would do.
"Hello, Rikku." Yep. Still standing there. "Reno wouldn't happen to be in, would he?"

Date: 2010-10-02 04:43 am (UTC)If if it was, in the words of the small girl holding her hand 'just stupid Turks stuff and would probably be boooooring'.
She supposed she ought to be glad enough that Elena hadn't kicked Tseng in the shins when she'd found him and informed him of the informal meet up of--all Turks on the island, plus little sister.
All of which brought her around to: knocking on the door, boss and sibling in tow, and feeling utterly awkward and vaguely wishing she could go and... read.
Yes. Read.

Date: 2010-10-02 12:57 pm (UTC)And it had seemed that the most effective way to deal with both at least one of those goals was to accompany Rosalind to this 'Reno's apartment this evening.
He idly straightened out his tie as he waited for the door to be answered. And he was not at all anxious about this meeting in the least, thank you.
... Informal though it might be.

Date: 2010-10-02 05:24 pm (UTC)Rosalind was her sister, and she had to share her with all these stupid Turks. They weren't even interesting.
Elena was going to be especially charming tonight, it would seem.

Date: 2010-10-02 06:13 pm (UTC)Wait. Wasn't Tseng already here?
... whoa. Two Tsengs. This party was going to get interesting.
"Come in," she said quickly. "We've got snacks! It's turning into a regular party!"

Date: 2010-10-02 05:00 am (UTC)So Elena was here. She wasn't expecting Reno's hyper, bouncy girlfriend to open the door, but she should have. Naturally she'd be here.
Elena settled in, reminding herself not to swear in front of her younger self. Or talk about her sex life.

Date: 2010-10-02 05:15 am (UTC)But when Reno walked through the door of his apartment to see seven people all chilling out in his living room, there were two thoughts that crossed his mind.
First: Hide the porn.
... What? He was a grown man. He was allowed to buy a few magazines now and again.
And second?
"What the shit?"
He was seeing double, here.

Date: 2010-10-02 05:32 pm (UTC)"Fandom the shit," he explained.

Date: 2010-10-02 05:36 pm (UTC)Naturally, Reno swooned. Rude had such gorgeous eyes."Daaamn. I love this friggin' island," Reno whistled, shooting a grin Rude's way.
All other individuals in the room were going to be temporarily very thoroughly ignored while Reno stashed the magazines in a nearby closet, the bag full of groceries next to the kitchen doorway, and then made his way over to clap his partner on the back.
"How you been, Rude?"

"Be nice to Tseng."
Words that she might never have imagined herself saying.

Date: 2010-10-02 06:26 pm (UTC)He... Had no idea what to make of the blonde in the very colorful outfit, and found himself occasionally stealing baffled glances at her. Whenever he wasn't flat-out staring at the man who bore an unsettling resemblance to himself. For obvious reasons.
He was beginning to suspect what the other Tseng had known for a long time. This island was going to do terrible things to his sanity.

Date: 2010-10-02 08:03 pm (UTC)No, no, this Tseng in particular was actually occupying himself with the very important task of giving Reno dirty looks, instead.
Because Reno was one of several people in this very room that he would not break reality by speaking his mind to.

Mmm. Socialization. What was that again?

Date: 2010-10-02 09:42 pm (UTC)"We should lay odds," she suggested, glancing from one Tseng to the other. "On which one of them starts lecturing Reno first."

Date: 2010-10-02 08:34 pm (UTC)As there was a blonde Turk that he'd not had to deal with in sometime sneaking glances at him in-between studying the rest of the room with something almost amused, almost resigned, almost (and most peculiarly) lonely.
Saying something, however, was going to come in a bit.
Studying came first. The longer hair, the graver face, the way he'd changed and hadn't changed and she couldn't put her finger on what was different.
And wasn't sure if she wanted to know. Though, of course, a good Turk would always want to know.
