Room 308, Very Early Wednesday Morning

Rikku had packed, already, and had her suitcase sitting and ready to go. And was quietly playing with Petey the Wonder Kitty, who she was going to miss while she was in Mexico.

She also had the door cracked a few inches, in case anybody happened to stop by but didn't want to knock. Since it was seriously early and all.

"Is ... this about radio?" she laughed. "You were seriously drunk, zoto."

She bit her lip. "I kinda ... have to ... um. Down to the ... bus soon? Sorry? I didn't realize it was gonna suck like this."

"I'm always drunk on radio. Bein' chased to the Gold Saucer by rats with boom mikes shouldn't change that," he grinned. "I'll walk you down, yo."

"How did they get there, anyway?" Rikku asked, grabbing her suitcase and shutting the door behind her. "Cho-cho is coming along, and you have to help me name him. Him? Her? That's important, first. And I'm sorry you don't get to see my swimsuit. I'll have to show you later. Uh. You sure you wanna walk me down? You're kinda ... all ... dead on your feet."

"I didn't ask 'em. They were throwin' acorns at me." Reno laughed and shrugged. "I'll drag my feet there, sure, jus' so long as I don't have to figure out how to gender-identify a plush chocobo, yo."

If Rikku wanted to flip it upside-down and look, that was her prerogative.

She did. Luckily, for her sanity's sake, plush chocobos were gender-neutral.

"Does he seem more like a he or does she seem like a she?" Rikku asked, eyeing the chocobo again. "I'm seriously resisting the urge to just have him start nuzzle-pecking people and going WARK!"

"Call it 'Wark.' Nice an' gender-neutral, yoto. Can be Wark the Neuter Chocobo." Reno paused to consider. "A result of in-breeding, I'm thinkin'."

"I'm not calling it Wark," she said with a haughty eyeroll. "Then he'd just be saying his name all the time and that's just silly."

Right. Let's not be silly, here, while naming our stuffed animals.

"Next best thing that comes to mind is Jack Daniel's," Reno said, squinting at the chocobo. "But that's kinda gender specific. And you might as well jus' give in and call the thing 'Whiskey.'"

It was relatively clear that Reno hadn't had to name much in his lifetime.

"I think he is a he," she grinned, nuzzling the cho-cho. Awww. Cho-cho. "Maybe I call him Keppel. Nice, solid Al Bhed kinda name. You think?"

Reno grinned a little at that.

"You got an Al Bhed chocobo?" Actually, it didn't seem too strange a notion. Possibly because he was ridiculously fuzzy-headed at the moment. "Sounds like a good name to me, yo."

"Just because he's not Al Bhed doesn't mean he can't have a nice proper Al Bhed kinda name," she said with a grin. "Maybe he's adopted."

And then, because she had to, Reno was attacked with beak-kisses from the newly-named Keppel. Punctuated with "wark!"s.

And because Reno was about three minutes to keeling over, the best he was going to be able to do was wave one hand at the plush.

And totally crack up.
