"Petey," Rikku said again, breaking out in a grin and scooping up the (seriously, very) dim kitty.

She sprawled back onto Reno's bed, holding Petey up in the air over her face. He didn't seem to mind; he just pressed his paws onto her face and wriggled.

"Stop eating things," she said in a mock-serious tone. "You're not allowed to eat things any more. Nope. Not ever again. No food for you."

This was punctuated with bouncing him for emphasis. He seemed terribly upset about the ordeal.
